Way back when my kids were just a twinkle in my eye, they were building a new elementary school in my area. I knew this would be the school that one day my kids would attend. I gave money to plant a tree at the school in my Mom's memory. I had this idea that my kids could wait for me under Nana Chris' tree. 11 years later that tree has grown and I try and park by it when I can. Yes, I'm one of those weird Moms who gets to the school 45 min before the bell rings so that I'll be at the front of the line. But Lauren loves that. It's one of her love languages. I've wanted to photograph the tree for a while now. All the leaves are gone so it's not very pretty, but I figure I'll take more throughout the year. First is the picture of the tree from where I park. I couldn't help but try a little texture. I love how the sun in shinning on this picture. I actually saw in my viewfinder that it was overblown, so I adjusted my settings for another shot. However I picked this one to share, becuase I like to think that she's shinning down watching over them. Then I found a birds nest. HOpe you enjoy!

I like that texture with the trees on that last shot. Your DOF in the first one is great, something a bit different and unexpected.
What a great association!
The nest is very neat - I zoomed in to get a better look at it.
