So today we went to play with Brooke's boys. My kids have so much fun being the "bigger" cousins. Logan really gets a kick out of Blake. He doesn't really want to touch him, but he loves to make him laugh. The first two photos I used manual exposure, 1/60, iso 400, with my on camera flash. I got red eye and shadows. but i tried without the flash and because he was so busy, I kept getting blur. Can anyone help me figure out the correct exposure for toddlers?

Oh my, how cute are they! I can't help you on the exposure, though. I'm still figuring it out for myself.
That last photo is adorable!

Yes, that's right...you post sorta a day ahead if that makes sense?? It is a little confusing but we got in the habit last year and have not bothered to change I guess. Love the hat and those kiddos are darling.
Your SS was pretty low...I try to keep mine at least 80 and that's still pretty low. 125 is a good number. If that means you have to bump your ISO or flash, then that's what you'd have to do. BTW...I usually use AV mode (Canon) with fast moving kiddos, just seems to work a bit better than manual. It's not fool proof and sometimes the metering can be way off, but...it's worth an "in-focus" shot.
cute pics. i haven't had to deal with toddlers too much but mom2drew definitely has you going in the right direction. try AV or TV and adjust the shutter. have fun!
Cute shot. like the colors in the hats
Love those cute little hats!
cute captures of cute kids ;)
cute little ones!
How cute that they're dressed alike! And fun that they're so close in age!
too cute. I have to fight with my dd to wear a hat too.
Love the hats...anything with frogs is always an A+ in my book.
the kids are adorable!
Cute shots! I agree with Heather's comments here... AV mode is wonderful for toddlers. I typically always use AV mode when shooting my son simply because he moves around SO much! You still have to watch your shutter speeds though... so do keep that in mind.
Cute frog hats on cute kids!
Love the expression in the third photo! Sorry I'm no help on exposure.
Cute shots! When I'm photographing toddlers, I try to keep the shutter speed at 125 or 100. It's hard sometimes if you're inside and don't have a flash or don't want to use a flash. They move so quickly, though, it's hard to capture them with slower SS.
Also agree with Heather's comments...it is something I struggle with as well. Love the hats.
