Day 29

We have turkeys in our neighborhood. This statement is so normal to me, I forget that most people don't have a pack of turkeys that roam the neighborhood. We don't live on a farm or even have acreage. We live in a regular old neighborhood with houses on either side of us. But we have a pack of turkeys every year that cohabitant with us. This year there are about 9 males and 20-30 females. Just this week, they have started forming harems of one male and 4 females. These were taken last week from my back porch. I also had to include this one of a male in full strut.

I think they look great! I love the close up (horizontal) one slightly better.

That would FREAK me out! lol We've got wild turkeys here, but they'd never be so bold as to come that close to humans. :)

I am sorry...these just crack me UP, girl. Hahaha...those birds look so funny on that swing set. Seriously...you could put so many little blurbs around their head about what they are "saying". I just love them...and you got such clear and clean shots with lots of color. If I saw those things out my door, I would be so giddy, the camera would be all over the place.

I love that they congregate on your swingset! Too funny!!
We have a flock of turkeys that roam around our house as well, they make the funniest noises during mating season and the toms are really comical all puffed up and manly. LOL
Great shots, and that last one totally had me cracking up.

Ha-I love the one on top of the swingset. Five years ago I had never seen a wild turkey, now they're all over the place here. They crack me up when they're up in spindly trees with their big bodies.

Oh my gosh!! This is SOOOO cool! We had a couple in our neighborhood a few years ago, but I think a cougar got them. I LOVE the male struttin' his stuff.

Good for you for being so ready to shoot those turkeys, hee, hee! Seriously, does the flock diminish around, say, the middle of November? When I try to get wildlife I get all nervous and hasty, and no shots turn out. You were calm and your photos are great! ML

Great shots!

This doesn't surprise me at all... lol... I live in the center of town on the highway and we have a family of rabbits that lives in our bushes during warm weather!

Great turkey shots! I had to giggle at the one of them by the swingset!
